Nepenthes rafflesiana named after Stamford Raffles is widely distributed in Malaysia, Borneo and Sumatra. N. rafflesiana is a lowland species and popular in cultivation. Ability to take direct sunlight as well as humid conditions make it easy for cultivation.
The following photo’s are taken in Johor and Sarawak. Two varieties and few crosses are fund by us so far.
Photo below is Nepenthes rafflesiana var. alata J.H.Adam & Wilcock (1990), taken in the same habitat as N.bicalcarata and N.albomarginata.
N.rafflesiana from Johor.
Rare crosses, N. rafflesiana × N. mirabilis var. echinostoma.
