On the second day of exploration, we headed toward Tayan town; it was a long dusty latarite road. There is too much human activity along way plus its dry season, hence we couldn’t find a good fishing spot but instead we found a good Nepenthes habitat in this area.
Red ampullaria is not rare in KalBar at all.
The flowers.
Green ampullaria is so abundant here.
Red gracillis.
N. mirabilis.
N. rafflesiana var alata.
And we found this “yacky” .
N. rafflesiana.
Herman found something that is unexpected while we approaching a logging trail. I was concentrating on a puddle in front of me for fish but suddenly Herman said to us, look, bicalcarata! From that moment, we realized that its surrounding us.
This is a >20 feets tall old plant with stunning looking upper pitchers.
Red and pink bicalcarata.
