Nepenthes Bicalcarata

Nepenthes bicalcarata named after Latin: bi = two, calcaratus = spu, aka Fanged pitcher plant is commonly found in northen part of Borneo island.

N. bicalcarata plants are one of the largest in the genus, climbing up to 20 m into the forest canopy, the biggest pitcher i had ever known measured as big as a young coconut.

    Simply stunning.Why is the red bicalcarata pics have it’s roots coming out?
    I’ve heard that bicalcarata stems can climb up too 50 metres.

    The last picture does not have any mirabilis var echinostoma.How can you tell it’s a mirabilis var echinostoma cross?

    Your are right Ali, i think its my mistake. It should be Nepenthes ×cantleyi instead.
