It was a relaxing days last week as we celebrating the Hari Raya holidays. A trip was planned with Herman to hunt for C. eliptica and Nepenthes in Perak but cancelled last minute due to Herman’s work commitment at the Zoo. Nevertheless, I managed to visit my old friends in a highland of Selangor with my wife, explored some pitcher plants with others along the trekking trails.
N. ramispina are found abundantly here.
Some very dark green, almost black looking pitchers.
We manage to find some young N. sanguinea in this 3 hours short trip.
Natural hybrids, Sanguinea X Ramispina.
N. macfarlanei population is relatively low in this highland, but I managed to got few shots of them.
Pitcher from a young plant.
The upper pitcher.
A common terrestrial orchid species.

Beautiful shots! Thanks for posting them. You seem to have had great luck for such a short trip! I’ll keep checking back for more!

Hi Shawn, thanks for the comment. It was a revisit instead of a new discovery, i was upset about the reducing population of macfarlanei, but at least i still can find the plant this time.
