Herman and I were supposed to meet up for a short field trip to central of Pahang on last Sunday. Unfortunately, I got a short message from him informing me of his severe backache on Saturday night. I was also recovering from food poisoning and I too had a restless Friday night which continued to Saturday evening. The trip was not finalised until Sunday morning and i had my wife accompanied me in this trip.
The destination was about 200 kilometers away and we departed slightly late in the morning from our home, expecting to arrive at noon time. During the hours of driving, I was thinking a lot about the Crypts that I am going to encounter and I began to feel excited to meet these old “buddy”.
Finally, we reached the first location. To my surprise, the water level was unexpectedly low in contrary to the high water level during the current monsoon season.
C. Affinis was abundantly here.
Low water level indicated blooming season, plenty of photo’s of it flower was captured in the trip.
Start counting the flowers….
Close shot of the leaves.
Here come the close shot of the flower.
Other shots.

After having satisfied with the various photo shots, we moved on to our last destination. As I approached close to the river, I saw this Nurii with leaves that appeared mutated.
The mutation is likely to be caused by the higher light exposure, i guess.
The flower of the mutated Nurii.
The ordinary Nurii.
The spathe, measured about 2cm.
Nice and healthy patch of Nurii found in this small river.
The following photos called off the day.
I really admired the heart shape flower, it looks absolutely stunning!
