I’m glad to have an opportunity to visit a great orchid garden that belongs to my friend who is a Sarawakian. He’s a real orchid enthusiast. His collection of wild orchids consists of more than 500 species! He can walk 12 hours covering Kalimantan border for an orchid collection trip!
Photo below is his orchid garden.
Please if anyone can name the species?
Start counting….
One of his prize orchid, anyone know the name?
Wonderful flowers and seeds.
Grammatophyllum speciosum?
I’m getting more and more excited when i saw this…
The little jewel of the jungle.
He’s kind enough to give me on of these.
Another species of jewel, Malaxis Metallica .
Next, slipper orchid.
Besides orchids, he has huge number of Nepenthes, photo below showing some of the rare plants.
Many of you may have seen red Ampullaria, but how about this red Refflesiana?
I wanna stay there as long as i can but we decided to visit a site nearby.
Nepenthes and orchids heaven! N. Albomarginata, N. Rafflesiana var alata, N. Bicalcarata, and many species of orchids are found here.
One of the most interesting find to me is Corybas Crenulatus.
