Steps When your materials are prepared, you’re ready to begin. 1. Fill the pot with laterite, approximately 5-10% of the entire uses substrate. The Flash Player and a browser with Javascript support are needed..
2. Fill in baked clay to about 1/3 full.
3. Now, fill the pot with peat moss.
4. C. Schulzei is used for this demonstration.
5. Pour in some water. Avoid direct tap water for crypts. For age water(tap water that has been stored for few days), make sure you adjust water parameters(according to species) correctly before using it, in this case adjust PH to around 6 and KH to 0-2. Normally rain water is ideal.
6. Cover with sphagnum moss or baked clay, top up with water and you are done.
7. Finally trim off all old or withered leaves.
Progress of plant growth will be updated from time to time. Hope this section is of help to those are first timer.

Hi Herman, thanks for the step by step.
Are those emersed plants? I want to convert my submersed C wendtii’s for emersed planting like what you’ve done for a start.
I got some ‘green gecko’ [fancy name] and want to create a semi potted nursery.

Hi! Just want to ask these:
Laterite – Where do you get them? Do you made it by yourself?
Baked clay – Is it the same with red brick for building construction?
Peat moss – Can we substitute it by coco peat?

Laterite can be easily obtain in Malaysia, especially rubber estate, they uses it to make road.
Baked clay is basically made from laterite for potting, can be obtain in nursery.
Coco peat can be used for crypts.
